The Union of Civil Servants said the reasons for the strike which
began on Thursday morning and was discontinued at noon today were
unclear and the formal procedure and implementation of the strike
questionable.
The Union of Customs Officers yesterday accused the Union of Civil
Servants of strike-breaking.
The Union of Civil Servants said the customs officers' demand for
negotiations on a branch collective agreement was legally
unfounded due to a valid collective agreement for civil servants
regulating the rights of customs officers.
The Union of Civil Servants also criticised the government and the
Finance Ministry for failing to react on the strike in time and with
valid arguments.
