Members of the alliance said they had to wait more than a year for
pension certificates after their sons or husbands had been
identified, not receiving any compensation in the meantime.
They requested that the compensation they receive while their
dearest are being traced not be discontinued when the tracing is
over but paid out until the pension certificates are issued. They
also asked the fulfilment of the other rights they have.
Croatia is still tracing 1,275 missing war veterans, mainly from
the easternmost Vukovar area. To date the remains of 3,398 veterans
have been exhumed, 80 percent of which have been identified.
