Deputy Prime Minister Ante Simonic said in parliament on Wednesday.

Stressing it was one minister's statement which he did not wish to
comment on, Simonic promised Croatian Democratic Union MP Jadranka
Kosor she would get a written response to her question whether the
government would change its stance towards HVIDR-a.
Marina Jurjevic of the Social Democrats (SDP) asked about Croatian
passports that went missing from the consulate in Mostar. Interior
Minister Sime Lucin expressed hope the government would adopt a
decision on replacing hard-cover Croatian passports with new
ones.
Lucin claimed that the consulate and Croatian consul in Mostar were
responsible for the disappearance of 930 passports, one of which
was later found in the possession of Serbian Premier Zoran
Djindjic's assassin.
Lucin pointed out that since the new government came into power in
2000, passports were made in Zagreb. An investigation into missing
passports prior to 2000 was difficult because the person
responsible for the passports has since passed away, he said.
Damir Kajin of the Istrian Democratic Assembly asked whether
government ministers, including the premier, would guarantee for
the failures of state-owned companies with their personal assets.
Kajin believes that government members should personally guarantee
that state loans will be spent successfully, along with boards of
directors in state-owned companies who were recently compelled to
do so, because it was the government that appointed said
directors.
Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac said that government members would
not put up their personal property as guarantee because this had no
legal basis.
Crkvenac recalled that members on boards of directors in state-
owned companies put their personal property as guarantees for the
success of the companies because this was based on legislative
provisions on companies and other laws.
