Everything about Djindjic's assassination has so far been
clarified except "who has politically stood behind it", and Milorad
Lukovic Legija, a former commander of the Unit for Special
Operations, the so-called Red Berets, which was recently
disbanded, is the best link, he is somebody who knows most about who
of politicians masterminded the assassination, Zivkovic said in an
interview with a local daily.
The state of emergency, introduced upon Djindjic's killing, will be
lifted until the end of this month even if Lukovic is not arrested by
that time, Zivkovic added.
Besides the ongoing investigation into the assassination, another
most important issue for the Serbian government is to cover the
current budgetary deficit, as the killing of Djindjic has slowed
down some privatisation processes, and the government also
expected the unfreezing of some 90 million dollars on 15 or 16 April
which have not yet been unfrozen and given back to Serbia because of
Croatia's blocking, the premier said.
