widow of Zeljko Raznjatovic aka Arkan, leader of the Serbian Volunteer Guard paramilitary unit, Beta news agency reported.
BELGRADE, March 17 (Hina) - Strong Serbian interior ministry
intervention units in Belgrade on Monday morning surrounded the
house of Svetlana Raznjatovic aka Ceca, a local singing star and
widow of Zeljko Raznjatovic aka Arkan, leader of the Serbian
Volunteer Guard paramilitary unit, Beta news agency reported. #L#
Beta sources claim the intervention police have apprehended
Raznjatovic's security, which have been guarding the house in
Dedinje district for years.
Some Serbian media have reported recently that Raznjatovic was
brought in for a police interview, but she denied this in Vecernje
novosti daily.
The media have linked her to Miodrag Lukovic aka Legija, a former
Red Berets commander and chief suspect in the staging of the
assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic last week.
The late Arkan was assassinated in a Belgrade hotel on 15 January
2000.
