PRISTINA, March 12 (Hina) - Representatives of international and
domestic institutions in Kosovo have harshly condemned Wednesday's
assassination of Serbian Premier Zoran Djindjic. #L#
UN Civil Administrator Michael Steiner said the assassination
represented an attack on a democratic process in Serbia. Kosovo
Premier Bajram Rexhepi stressed that such terrorist acts were
extremely dangerous, not only for the country they take place in but
for the entire region.
Kosovo Serb representatives say that Djindjic's assassination was
the worst thing that could have happened to Kosovo Serbs, because
they put all of their hopes in the late premier to protect their
interests in Kosovo.
All officials stress that yesterday's assassination will have a
negative impact on negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina
which were scheduled to start soon at Steiner's initiative.
