ZAGREB, March 7 (Hina) - MP Ljubo Cesic Rojs on Friday caused a torrent of laughter and earned himself a warning when during a debate on the Krsko nuclear power plant he accused senior Slovene and Croatian state officials of having
divided among themselves US$300 million which Croatia was to receive as compensation for the electricity from Krsko that was never delivered to it.

Cesic claimed that a former Slovene premier, Janez Drnovsek, had
used his share of the "gain" (10%) to buy a stretch of the Croatian
coast and mainland, while the Croatian premier used his, i.e. his
party's share (15% i.e. 25%) for "underhand plans to eliminate the
Croatian opposition, especially HDZ's generals and politicians".
"Premier Ivica Racan was thus able to implement his intention,
accepted also by Carla Del Ponte, to unseal indictments against
generals who could make people rise up," Cesic said.
Cesic claims that Mato Arlovic, Goran Granic, Slavko Linic and
other officials had been given their share in the deal as well.
Although his statement made MPs laugh, chairman Mato Arlovic warned
him for "belittling other parties and politicians".
Dorica Nikolic of the Social Liberals said that all colleagues who
last summer voted for the ratification of the agreement did so
because of their personal interests. As other opposition deputies,
she, too, requested support for her party's proposal that the
agreement on Krsko be annulled.
MPs also discussed but did not vote about the HSLS' proposal. It was
agreed that possible conclusions would be submitted by Tuesday,
March 11, when the 30th sitting is to resume.
