PULA, Jan 17 (Hina) - Istria County prefect Ivan Jakovcic told reporters on Friday he would appeal against yesterday's non-final ruling of the Buje Municipal Court, which declared a contract, by which Jakovcic bought houses in the
village Sveti Juraj, null and void and ruled that they should remain the property of Groznjan municipality. Jakovcic said that he had invested 200,000 euros in the village, which he bought in 1996.

reporters on Friday he would appeal against yesterday's non-final
ruling of the Buje Municipal Court, which declared a contract, by
which Jakovcic bought houses in the village Sveti Juraj, null and
void and ruled that they should remain the property of Groznjan
municipality. Jakovcic said that he had invested 200,000 euros in

"I bought in good faith two rather decrepit houses and renovated
them. I did it because I wanted to help the development of Istria's
rural areas by investing in them," Jakovcic said, describing the
case as an act of "political pressure".
