Speaking at a meeting of Croats from the Sava River region, Kovacevic said that today's Croatia was neither rightist nor leftist, but a country of the rich and the poor.
He said that if elected president, he would establish an office to deal with the problems of Bosnian Croats.
Kovacevic also advocated the simultaneous admission of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina into the EU, the depoliticising of intelligence services and the establishment of the army as a professional force.
