Addressing a news conference, Adlesic said she regretted not having been given the opportunity to confront incumbent President Stjepan Mesic and Croatian Democratic Union candidate Jadranka Kosor, who she said did not have any platforms but were trading recriminations and commenting on press headlines.
Croatia has not solved all border issues with its neighbours and without that problem solved, there can be no economic progress in border areas, Adlesic said.
"The head of state must be actively involved in solving outstanding border issues and in lobbying for admission to the European Union. The prime minister and the president should not have spent ten days quarreling in the media about issues concerning the intelligence community... they should have lobbied for EU entry instead."
Asked to comment on opinion polls about the outcome of the presidential elections, Adlesic said that if citizens voted for either of the two candidates who were considered favourites, "they will definitely choose the current situation, which means no changes and a growing army of unemployed people".
Asked about the blowing up of a monument to Josip Broz Tito in Kumrovec, Adlesic said: "That is a completely inappropriate act and we condemn it."
