Miksic said that his campaign cost some 4.5 million kuna and that his rivals Mesic and Jadranka Kosor had not spent three million kuna each as reported, but rather 15 million each.
The presidential candidate said that his ratings were improving by the day and that with the current 26-29 percent support he was the second most likely winner.
Speaking about the economic recovery of the Karlovac area, where his parents were born, Miksic said that he would bring the US giant General Electric to Karlovac and help the city become an international centre of power industry. He stated that if elected president, he would remove administrative obstacles to foreign investments.
Commenting on the Interior Ministry spokesman's claim that the car Miksic was using in his election campaign, which the police confiscated in an incident which occurred yesterday, did not have diplomatic registration plates, Miksic said that in 1995 he had been appointed an honorary consul to the United States and that he possessed a diplomatic passport and diplomatic registration plates.
"The police yesterday prevented me from holding three election rallies in Karlovac... but I will make it into the second election round or win the first round," Miksic said.
