Miksic said that the elections were organised poorly and that they were held at the time of the Christmas and New Year holidays on purpose so that fewer voters would go to the polls and Stjepan Mesic and Jadranka Kosor could have better chances of winning.
Miksic said that he would upset their plans because his candidacy was already supported by six parties and the support was increasing by the day.
He said that he supported the transparent financing of the election campaign and opposed legal provisions allowing donors to remain anonymous because it created room for manipulation.
He said that he had spent 4.5 million kuna of his own money for his campaign so far.
The incumbent president and presidential candidate, Stjepan Mesic, has not done anything to prevent conflict of interest and Croatia is among the most corrupt countries in the world, Miksic said, adding that Mesic supported Druzba Adria and Sisak Ironworks projects which he described as failures, and failed to oppose the sale of the Ina oil company "at a ridiculously low price".
Asked about a referendum on abortion, Miksic said that there were more important issues in Croatia than the issue of banning abortion and that if he was elected president, he would would first call a referendum on Croatia's integration with the EU.
