PRISTINA, March 24 (Hina) - Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova issued a statement on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the start of NATO's air strikes against the Serb forces in the former Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia, saying that great progress had been made in all fields for the last five years.
PRISTINA, March 24 (Hina) - Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova issued a
statement on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the fifth anniversary
of the start of NATO's air strikes against the Serb forces in the
former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, saying that great progress had
been made in all fields for the last five years.#L#
Commenting on last week's riots Rugova voiced hope that the situation
would be overcome thanks to the commitment of everybody, particularly
efforts which Kosovo institutions made cooperating with international
authorities.
Rugova reiterated that he believed that the independence of Kosovo was
the only solution which could help stabilise the entire region. He
expressed his opinion that there would be no division of Kosovo.
Rugova in his message praised international peace keepers in Kosovo
(KFOR) for their endeavours.
Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, on Wednesday was decorated with
posters with slogans 'Five Years of New Life', while posters saying
'Five Years of Occupation' were put up in Serb-populated enclaves.
