attacks occurring in southern Serbia so that attention is diverted
from Kosovo to that area and Serbian forces provoked to act, Serbia's
Interior Minister Dragan Jocic said on Friday.#L#
"All important objects in Serbia are protected, the level of
protection is rather high and citizens have no reason for fear," Jocic
told the state-run Serbian Radio and Television.
"An uprising is taking place in Kosovo, and Kosovo Albanians are
trying to ethnically cleanse Kosovo by killing Serbs and burning Serb
property and churches," the minister said. "This is not spontaneous,
this is orchestrated," he said.
Jocic ascribed the latest actions of Albanians to their wish to
establish independent Kosovo and prevent agreement between Belgrade
and Pristina and Belgrade and the international community.
