ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina) - The Croatian government has decided to allocate 46.5 million kuna (approx. 6.28 million euros) from the budget for the purchase of 85 flats for victims of the Croatian Homeland Defence War.

The flats will be purchased for this purpose in Slavonski Bord, Sinj, Umag, Novigrad, Senj, Zagreb and Sisak.

The government also defined its migrations policy for the 2006-2007 period.

According to the relevant document, over the past 10 years about 95,000 foreign nationals have been allowed to stay temporarily in Croatia. In addition, 22,700 foreigners have been given permanent residence.

Since the start of the application of the Croatian Citizenship Act, approximately 1.1 million people have been granted Croatian citizenship.

Over the past eight years, 615 persons sought asylum, but none of the requests has been positively solved.
