Sanader informed Douste-Blazy of the efforts Croatia was investing to join the EU after accession talks were opened on October 3.
The French minister said he was certain that developments were positive.
Sanader underlined that Croatia would continue with reforms and the application of European legislation because it believed that was the right path.
The two officials also discussed the situation in the region, concluding they shared a high level of agreement.
They also advocated intensifying Croatian-French economic cooperation.
Sanader said the French foreign minister would officially visit Croatia in a few months.
