BANJA LUKA, April 29 (Hina) - The Bosnian Serb government said in a statement on Friday it had extended the mandate of the Srebrenica fact-finding task force at the request of the international community's High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paddy Ashdown.

Ashdown is displeased with incomplete lists of persons believed to have been involved in events that took place in the eastern town of Srebrenica between July 10 and 19, 1995, when Bosnian Serb military and police forces killed more than 7,000 Muslims.

The task force recently submitted a list of 892 persons who had been involved in the Srebrenica events in various ways and who were still employed in government institutions at the entity and state levels.

The Srebrenica task force must identify persons who still work in the police and the State Agency for Investigations and Protection, the statement said.

The task force is led by Jovan Spaic, head of the Bosnian Serb government office for relations with the Hague war crimes tribunal. The group was given a deadline of September 30 this year to compile a new report on the Srebrenica massacre.
