LJUBLJANA, March 25 (Hina) - Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel visited Pristina on Friday in his capacity as chair of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), two days after the formation of Kosovo's new government, and held talks with new Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi and other local and international representatives.

Rupel said during the talks it was "impossible to find a stable solution for Kosovo without talks and cooperation with Kosovo Serbs and Serbia".

According to Rupel, a discussion about the future status of Kosovo will be possible only when international community standards for the province have been met.

He said the OSCE remained committed to helping Kosovo, but added that negotiations on the future status would depend on the assessment of how standards were being met.

Rupel underlined that the government must meet standards referring to ethnic minorities.

According to the Slovene news agency STA, Rupel called on all sides in Kosovo to sit down and talk about the creation of a multiethnic society.

A Pristina news agency said that Parliament Speaker Nexhat Daci turned down Rupel's proposal that Kosovo and Belgrade representatives met in secret to discuss the future of the province.
