ZAGREB, Feb 25 (Hina) - Most clubs of deputies in the Croatian Parliament on Friday rejected a Party of Rights (HSP) resolution on principles of Croatia-Slovenia negotiations. They maintain that Croatia does not need resolutions in the form of an ultimatum but that it is useful to open a debate on relations with Slovenia.

Most clubs urged intensifying diplomatic activity and settling issues through agreement instead of straining relations or making unilateral moves.

Damir Kajin of the Istrian Democratic Party underlined the problem faced by about 10,000 Croatian pensioners who had worked in Slovenia. Due to the nonexistence of a law on the avoidance of the double taxation of pensions, pensions are taxed at a 33 instead of a 16 percent rate and reduced by 500-1,000 kuna.

Later today, Deputy Speaker Darko Milinovic said Parliament's 13th session would likely be called for March 8 or 9.

He was responding to Ante Markov of the Peasant Party who said that if today was the last day of the 12th session and the new one would start on March 17, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader should address Parliament about issues which he said were making the public nervous, like that of Ante Gotovina, the runaway general wanted by the Hague war crimes tribunal.

Markov also said that Parliament was late in adopting a resolution on Croatia's admission to the European Union.
