"The stability of Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo is of great importance for Slovenia and the region," Slovenia's Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairman Dimitrij Rupel said at a news conference, adding that Slovenia supported Serbia in its integration with the European Union.
After the talks with Rupel, Tadic said that Belgrade was ready to start talks with Pristina on the future status of the province, but that Kosovo's independence was unacceptable and that it would destabilise the entire region.
Tadic said that Serbia and Montenegro's priority was admission to the EU and NATO's Partnership for Peace and that it would be best for war crimes indictees to surrender of their own accord.
"Cooperation with the Hague tribunal must be full, Croatia's recent example shows that this is true," Tadic said.
Tadic also met Prime Minister Janez Jansa, who said that his country supported the integration of Western Balkan countries into the European Union and was ready to share its knowledge and experience with them.
