Speaking to reporters after the meeting, SDP chairman Ivica Racan said that a survey had shown a high rating for the SDP in the city of Karlovac, but that the party was not satisfied with its ranking in the county as a whole.
Racan said that the findings of the survey conducted by the SDP would be used as "an instruction for personnel action" in the party's Karlovac county branches.
Asked to comment on today's statement by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader that "no one, not even General Gotovina, can be above the law", the SDP leader said that "things like that could not be heard from the HDZ when they accused my government of treason over its cooperation with Brussels and The Hague."
Responding to the question on the possibility of the SDP and the HDZ forming a coalition at the local elections, Racan said that his party may enter into coalitions with all democratic parties "but hardly with the HDZ".
