The secretariat of the HBK reported today in a press release that the meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of the HBK president, Zagreb Archbishop Josip Bozanic, and his Bosnian counterpart, Banja Luka Bishop Franjo Komarica, focused on the strengthening of ties between Croats Catholics who live in the two countries. The dignitaries also discussed problems of Catholic missions for Croats Catholics in third countries, and concluded that new missions should be opened in the US and Scandinavia.
The main topic of the gathering was cooperation in various fields of Church activity in Croatia and Bosnia.
Bosnian bishops informed colleagues in Croatia of the current situation in Bosnia regarding the position of the Catholic Church, with an emphasis on efforts to preserve the identity of Croats Catholics in Bosnia-Herzegovina and their equal rights with other citizens in that country.
"Despite problems, the bishops highlighted the hope and strength of Catholics in Bosnia-Herzegovina which encourage them to persist in their efforts on the path towards the future," reads the press release.
