The central ceremony was held this morning in the Gazihusrevbegova Mosque in Sarajevo, at which the deputy head of the Islamic Community in the country, Ismet Spahic, called on the faithful to promote peace and coexistence among all people in Bosnia.
The Archbishop of Sarajevo, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, today sent a message to the head of the Islamic community in Bosnia, Mustafa effendi Ceric, and the Muslim faithful, wishing them all the best for Kurban Bairam.
"I wish that this celebration of Kurban Bairam brings to Muslims as well as to all of us, who are your neighbours, more closeness, respect and joint endeavours. Let our religious holidays help us stop every evil and build a safe and stable peace in this area," the Roman Catholic cardinal wrote in his message.
