ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - Presidential candidate Stjepan Mesic has voiced disappointment with the campaign which the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) is conducting on behalf of its candidate Jadranka Kosor, particularly with what he has called "loathsome pamphlets", referring to copies of transcripts of his behind-closed-doors testimony in the trial of Bosnian Croat Tihomir Blaskic at the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, which appeared in the HDZ's main offices on Thursday, bearing the title "The Hague President".

"I am disappointed with the HDZ's campaign because they have... printed loathsome pamphlets, containing racist messages, which cannot be good," Mesic said in a puppet theatre in Zagreb, where he watched a play with his grandson and his school friends.

"I am surprised that the HDZ is sending messages advocating cooperation with the Hague tribunal, while in the HDZ offices a brutal attack is launched on those who comply with Croatian laws and testify at the Hague tribunal," Mesic told reporters.

"The question poses itself what is the HDZ's real policy, is it what they are telling Europeans and what pleases Europe, or is their real policy the way they behave in Croatia," Mesic said.

Asked how many votes he expected to win in the second election round, Mesic said he believed he would win more than 50 percent of votes.

He also said he was glad that the parties which supported his presidential candidacy had stabilised their relations in relation to the first election round.

Asked what he would like to tell voters on the last day of the election campaign, Mesic answered briefly "Let's go to work on Monday".
