In a statement for the media, Mesic repeated that Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) candidate Jadranka Kosor acted in an unprincipled manner by stating that the agreement on the Druzba Adria project would be cancelled, because she spoke differently as a member of the government.
He added that Kosor did not need an office because her slogan was "I go where Sanader goes". "Why does she need an office if she only follows Sanader who would make decisions in her stead anyway?".
Commenting on Health Minister Ante Hebrang's decision to undergo an operation abroad, Mesic said it was intolerable that Hebrang was praising the national health system and undergoing medical treatment in Austria. "But, he is not an exception because some ministers have sent their children to colleges abroad," Mesic said.
