ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - The presidential candidate of the CroatianDemocratic Union (HDZ), Jadranka Kosor, on Thursday visited thechildren of the Domini family from Zagreb, whom she will give 250,000kuna (approx. 32,700 euros) that she
won in the first round ofpresidential elections last Sunday.
ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - The presidential candidate of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ), Jadranka Kosor, on Thursday visited the children of the
Domini family from Zagreb, whom she will give 250,000 kuna (approx. 32,700
euros) that she won in the first round of presidential elections last
Sunday.At the beginning of her campaign, Kosor had said that she would give
most of the 500,000 kuna that is given to each presidential candidate who wins
more than 10 percent of votes, to the children of the Domini family and
children who are victims of mines.
The nine-year-old Marko Domini and his six-year-old sister Lana lost
their father Zoran in 1999, when he was killed as an innocent bystander in a
mob shoot-out in downtown Zagreb.
The children's mother, Ankica Domini, recently died of a lung
embolism.
