assessment that these were the leastdemocratic presidential elections with the shortest election campaignin the history of democracy.
SPLIT, Dec 22 (Hina) - Independent presidential candidate Doris Kosta
issued a statement on Wednesday expressing her dissatisfaction with the media
coverage of most presidential candidates, and joined two other candidates in
their assessment that these were the least democratic presidential elections
with the shortest election campaign in the history of democracy.Social Liberal Party (HSLS) candidate Djurdja Adlesic and Party of
Rights (HSP) candidate Slaven Letica appealed to the State Election Commission,
non-governmental organisations and international organisations on Tuesday,
saying that these presidential elections would be neither free nor fair and
that they were a step backwards in a democratic competition.
Kosta claimed that the media favoured only the current president Stjepan
Mesic and the candidate of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ),
Jadranka Kosor.
