Croatian president visits Obrovac

OBROVAC, June 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Monday attended a session of the Obrovac City Council and the town leadership and held talks with representatives of the Serb national minority.
OBROVAC, June 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Monday attended a session of the Obrovac City Council and the town leadership and held talks with representatives of the Serb national minority.

Zadar County Prefect Ivo Gabric and Obrovac mayor Ante Zupan informed Mesic of infrastructure and development investments in Zadar County and Obrovac.

Mesic positively assessed the town's cooperation with the Slovene company Elan that opened a plant in Obrovac and employed over 100 people.

"I am confident that Croatia-Slovene cooperation would intensify in the future, particularly after Slovenia realises that it must solve the problem of the Ljubljanska Bank and compensate Croatian clients for their savings in the bank," the Croatian president said.

Mesic also held talks with representatives of the Council of the Serb Minority in Obrovac. The head of the council, Dusan Ljubicic, informed the head of state of problems Serb returnees were faced with. Mesic also commented on the recent war in Croatia, saying that the guilt for war crimes must be individualised.
