Mesic receives Chirac's note of congratulations for Statehood Day

ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic has received a note of congratulations from his French counterpart Jacques Chirac on the occasion of Statehood Day, which Croatia observes on June 25, Mesic's office said in a press release on Friday.
ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic has received a note of congratulations from his French counterpart Jacques Chirac on the occasion of Statehood Day, which Croatia observes on June 25, Mesic's office said in a press release on Friday.

In his note, Chirac underlined that France strongly supports Croatia's accession to the European Union and voiced confidence in a good progress of the entry negotiations.

Chirac also underlined that Croatia has an important role in the stabilisation of the region and voiced confidence in the further strengthening of France-Croatia relations.

President Mesic recently received numerous notes of congratulations from foreign officials on the occasion of Statehood Day.
