SARAJEVO, April 7 (Hina) - Seven people, four of them children,
were wounded in yesterday's Serb artillery attack on Bihac, the UN
in Sarajevo said today.
Military observers reported that Serbs fired twelve 130-mm
shells on downtown Bihac, damaging five residential buildings.
UN observers registered 28 detonations in the Bihac 'protected
area'.
UN spokesman in Sarajevo said that these were connected with
Bosnian army and Croatian Defence Council (HVO) operations
southwest of Bihac.
UNPROFOR sources said that some 400 Bosnian army and HVO
soldiers were carrying out operations to gain control over a road
west of the UN protected area.
The operation had been successful and Serbs retaliated by
shelling civilian facilities, said the UN spokesman in Sarajevo.
Troops loyal to Muslim renegade Fikret Abdic and Serb units
were attacking Bosnian army positions near the village of Vrnograc
east of Velika Kladusa where 323 detonations were registered.
The confrontation line remained unchanged.
