ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) - Croatian Army chief-of-staff, Gen.
Janko Bobetko, and UN Force Commander for Croatia, Gen. Eid
Al-Rodan, discussed today the present situation in Croatia and
the future tasks of UN peacekeeping forces.
"It was a regular meeting in order to consider the situation
and to get certain things cleared up," Bobetko said. He stressed
that in view of the termination of the UNPROFOR mandate on March
31 "it was necessary to do everything to avoid any incidents, to
keep events under control, and to have all possible
misunderstandings solved immediately and efficiently."
"This is my second meeting with Gen. Al-Roden," Bobetko
said.
He added that there was no controversy between them
"regarding the approach to such delicate problems".
