GOSPIC, March 13 (Hina) - Serb snipers opened fire at Croatian Army
positions near Bilaj, 150 km south of Zagreb, at 11:40 a.m. Monday,
and wounded a Croatian soldier, the Gospic-based Croatian Army
stated today.
The Serbs, stationed in the occupied Croatian areas, seriously
violated the ceasefire agreement by wounding the soldier in sniping
fire, according to the statement.
The soldier was injured by a UNPROFOR check-point. A Jordanian
UN officer witnessed the consequences of the incident.
The Gospic-based Croatian Army sent a severe protest to
UNPROFOR because of the incident.
The wounded Croatian solider has been admitted to Gospic
hospital and is now out of critical condition.
