ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Bosnian army military police have
arrested a group of soldiers who abducted a Bosnian Croat general
in the Bihac area of northwestern Bosnia last week.
The Bosnian army Fifth Corps apprehended a group of military
police from the 502nd Brigade on the night of March 10 and put them
in custody.
The group had kidnapped Croat Defence Council (HVO) General
Vlado Santic on the night of March 8 and taken him in an unknown
direction from the Sedra Hotel, a dozen kilometres from Bihac town.
The information was released in a statement by the commander
of the Bosnian army Fifth Corps, General Atif Dudakovic, which was
carried by the Bihac press agency. A copy of the statement was made
available to Hina today.
Dudakovic could not say with certainty what had happened with
General Santic but expressed suspicion that the worst had happened.
Dudakovic hoped that this incident would not strain relations
between Bosnian Croats and Moslems.
