SARAJEVO, 12 Dec (Hina) - The Provisional Election Commission of
the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on
Tuesday declared election results for the Republika Srpska
Assembly official and final.
Temporary election results were published at the end of last week.
A statement, issued by the OSCE Mission headquarters in Sarajevo,
said that the Election Sub-Commission for Complaints had
considered all complaints concerning election results which
arrived within the prescribed deadline and estimated them as
unfounded.
After that, the Provisional Election Commission decided to confirm
the earlier published temporary results.
According to the official election results, the Serb Democratic
Party, which earlier had absolute majority in the Bosnian Serb
parliament, won only 24 out of 93 seats.
The Coalition for a United and Democratic Bosnia-Herzegovina, led
by the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), will have 16
representatives. The Serb People's Alliance, led by Biljana
Plavsic and the Serb Radical Party will have 15 seats each.
The Socialist Party of Republika Srpska will have nine
representatives, while the Social-Democratic Party of Bosnia-
Herzegovina and the Party of Independent Social-Democrats of
Republika Srpska will have two representatives each in the new
Bosnian Serb parliament.
