MOSTAR, Nov 25 (Hina) - The establishment of all six municipal
councils of Mostar in line with results of a September local
election was welcomed on Tuesday by Martin Garrod and David Foley.
Both Garrod, head of the Mostar regional office of the
international High Representative for Bosnia, and Foley, head of
the Mostar regional office of the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe, assessed it as a step forward for Mostar.
They advocated an urgent founding session of the Mostar Town
Council.
Foley pointed out it was necessary for local Croat and Bosniak
officials to begin negotiations on the establishment of executive
authority.
He announced a visit to Travnik and Bugojno, central Bosnia, on 27
November, for talks with local leaders on obstructions to the
implementation of election results there.
