RIJEKA, Dec 1 (Hina) - The election commission of the Primorje-
Gorski Kotar County at 00.30 hours Monday unveiled the final
unofficial results of a repeated election for members of the County
Assembly.
According to the proportional representation system, 56,25 per
cent of the vote went to the Family Coalition, which includes the
Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Alliance
(PGS), the Croatian People's Party (HNS) and the Croatian Social
Liberal Party (HSLS).
The coalition composed of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), the
Croatian Christian Democratic Union (HKDU) and the Croatian
Christian Democratic Party (HKDS) won 24,84 per cent of the vote.
The Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) won 5,54 cent of the vote.
In line with the election results, the Family Coalition won 20 seats
at the County Assembly, the second coalition won eight seats, and
the IDS won two.
According to the first-past-the-post system, the SDP, PGS, HNS,
HSLS Coalition won nine seats in the County assembly, while the IDS
won one.
The Family Coalition thus has 29 seats at the Assembly, the HDZ,
HKDU, HKDS Coalition has eight, and the IDS has three seats.
