Use of mobile telephony among Croatians on rise

ZAGREB, Aug 10 (Hina) - A trend of a rise in mobile phoning in Croatia continued in the first half of 2007, with a decrease in fixed-line operations.
ZAGREB, Aug 10 (Hina) - A trend of a rise in mobile phoning in Croatia continued in the first half of 2007, with a decrease in fixed-line operations.

Croatians spent 29 percent more minutes in mobile telephony in comparison to the first half of 2006. In fixed telephony, the decrease was 12 percent.

According to the State Bureau of Statistics, Croatians still spent more time talking on the fixed line phone, namely 3.93 billion minutes in comparison to 2.36 billion minutes registered in mobile telephony in the first half of 2007.

Of those 3.93 billion minutes, 3.84 billion were spent in local calls, and the rest for international calls.

In mobile telephony, 97 percent (2.29 billion minutes) were spent in local calls, and rest were international services.
