The State Bureau of Statistics has reported that foreigners accounted for 10.95 million overnight stay out of a total of 13.07 million overnight stays in the January-June period.
Traditionally, a majority of foreign holiday-makers came from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and the Czech Republic.
German passport holders topped the list with 2.86 million overnight stays, although this figure was by 4 percent lower than the registered overnight stays by Germans in the comparable period of 2006.
They were followed by Austrians with 1.23 million overnight stays and Slovenes with 1.14 million overnight stays.
Italian guests spent 915.9 thousand nights in Croatia in the first half of 2007. According to the number of arrivals, Italians with 317.6 thousand arrivals were immediately after Germans with 492.7 thousand arrivals.
According to the statistics, 162.6 thousand Czech tourists spent 811.2 thousand nights in the said period.
