The only sector to attract any business during the afternoon, was the lauric oils, as they fell back in sympathy with the slightly easier palm oils. However, even then, the lauric business was confined to just coconut oil, with $600 paid for Feb/Mar and $610/$607.50 for Mar/Apr. Selling levels finished $10 to $15 down. The palm oil sector closed unchanged to $5 easier. Olein was thought to have traded Jan at $541 per tonne during the afternoon, but this couldn't be confirmed. Earlier, Olein traded spot at $532.50 per tonne, and RBD oil saw $519 and $524 for Dec and Mar respectively. The soft oils closed tradeless but 0.50 to two guilders firmer.
