Dutch soy and rape oil sellers shed a further guilder during the afternoon as Chicago soy oil futures sped lower propelled by long liquidation. On the palm oil market prices at first resisted pressure from the battered Malaysian ringgit but succumbed to the falling Chicago market. Traders said business in the palm oil sector remains thin with some uncertainties still hanging over the market concerning the Indonesian export limits. "People are waiting to see what happens to December's shipments and if all goes well, which it seems to be, we will see some confidence return to the market," said one trader. At the close crude palm oil cif Europe was $5 to $7.50 lower after Jan/Mar traded at $552.50 a tonne cif. RBD palm oil closed $5 to $2.50 down while olein was $2.50 to $7.50 lower. Dutch soy oil was 1.50 guilders down at the close while rape oil was one to 1.50 guilders lower after Feb/Apr traded at 120.50 and Aug/Oct at 111.50 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill.
