However, tight nearby supplies and strong offtake underpinned the sector. "Nothing was really changed, nearby supplies remain tight and there is still strong demand from both traditional buyers and the former eastern bloc," said one trader. In the palm oil sector prices were tending to drift lower on a lack of fresh leads. "Nothing much is happening ahead of the Ivan Wong report and the official PORLA data due later in the week," said another trader. Malaysian private forecaster Ivan Wong is due to release his last output, stocks and export estimates for October on Thursday while the official data from the Malaysian Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority (PORLA) is scheduled for release on Saturday. Dutch soy oil closed one guilder up to one guilder down after November traded at 138 guilders in a switch with December at 130.50 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. Dutch/EU rape oil finished one to 0.50 guilders lower after Feb/Apr traded at 121 guilders, May/Jul at 117 and Aug/Oct at 112 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. Traders said there was very little volume behind the business. Crude palm oil cif Europe closed $2.50 up to unchanged while products were $2.50 down to unchanged. Lauric oils attracted some light trade during the afternoon with coconut oil fetching $620 for Dec/Jan, $630 for Jan/Feb and $632.50, $637.50 and $640 a tonne cif For Feb/Mar.
