SARAJEVO, Jan 10 (Hina) - Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic and
Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic yesterday held talks with US
Assistant Secretary of State Richard Holbrooke.
Izetbegovic told reporters that sanctions against Serbia could
not be eased until Bosnian Serbs accepted the peace plan and Serbia
recognized Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sarajevo television said.
Holbrooke said that the the five-power Contact Group peace
plan was a starting point for negotiations.
Responding to this statement, Silajdzic said it was not fair
because Bosnia had accepted the plan on a take-it-or-leave-it
basis.
Siljadizic stressed that the Contact Group's position seemed
to have shifted a little since the Serb aggressors rejected the
plan.
