ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received the chief of the European Community Monitor Mission in
Croatia Albert Turot, the president's office said in a statement.
Tudjman's chief-of-staff Hrvoje Sarinic and his foreign
affairs adviser Zeljko Matic also attended the meeting.
Turot informed Tudjman of the aims of the ECM mission and its
policy as well as ECM views on the situation in Croatia.
Tudjman said he would fully support Turot and the ECM. Tudjman
also discussed the crisis in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and
possible solutions to the problems. Tudjman stressed that the ECM
mission would be working in a sovereign and internationally
recognized Republic of Croatia.
The talks also included issues on Security Council resolutions
and US, Russian, Great Britain, French, and German statements on
Croatia's internationally recognized territorial integrity.
Turot said he understood the problem in Croatia, and that a
peaceful solution to the crisis was the only solution.
