A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON THURSDAY

ZAGREB, April 4 (Hina) - Zagreb's daily VJESNIK on Thursday runs a column under the headline "HNS and HND Want to Unite" on events among the Croatian parties. It says that the leaders of the Croatian Peoples' Party and the Croatian Independent Democrats were planning to unite soon. The paper runs a commentary headlined "Blaskic Defends Himself Out of Court" on the trial of General Tihomir Blaskic in The Hague. The daily writes that the location where Blaskic is to stay could not be known to anyone but the Tribunal and the Dutch authorities. The paper also runs an interview with the Polish Foreign Minister, Dariusz Rosati, on occasion of his imminent visit to Croatia. Columnist Maja Freundlich headlined her column "Goebbels, Visinski..." in which she reacts to a text by Zdravko Tomac published in the Zagreb weekly "Nacional". Another Zagreb daily, VECERNJI LIST, runs a commentary headlined "There is no Reason for Devaluation", from a news conference held by the Croatian Peoples' Bank governor, Marko Skreb. The paper also runs an interview with the president of the Alliance of Independent Croatian Unions, Davor Juric. (hina) lm mm 041132 MET apr 96
