A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON TUESDAY

ZAGREB, March 12 (Hina) - Today's issue of 'VJESNIK' brings on its front page a report on yesterday's visit of the Yugoslav Foreign Minister Milan Milutinovic to Croatia. The trial of persons accused of espionage for Belgrade starts, stresses the paper on its front page. Marina Matulovic-Dropulic has taken office as Zagreb Mayor, the paper says. 'Kuna In Bosnia-Herzegovina: Foreign Or Domestic Currency?' asks Ivo Jakovljevic in his commentary piece. 'It seems that HDZ and SDP, after several years, are becoming the two major players on the Croatian political scene. HDZ representatives call SDP their strongest rival, although they would not be against partnership with social-democrats if needed', writes Branko Podgornik in the lead of his commentary in today's 'Vjesnik'. The main topic is the reorganization of the Croatian penal code. The paper also reports that the Sarajevo City Assembly has pronounced their decision on the establishment of Sarajevo Canton, without previous agreement with Bosnian Croat representatives. Sarajevo Mayor warned representatives that the decision on the establishment of Sarajevo Canton could not be accepted without agreement with Croat representatives and closed the session while some representatives of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) decided to go on with the session, invoking the two-thirds majority. 'VECERNJI LIST' also brings on its front page a report on yesterday's visit of the Yugoslav Foreign Minister to Zagreb. The article is headlined 'To Normalization Through Road Traffic Agreements'.
