A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON MONDAY

ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - The Monday edition of the Zagreb-based daily VJESNIK runs a front-page article on a visit by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman to Zadar County, under the headline "We Have Created a Democratic System and Invincible Armed Forces." Vjesnik includes coverage of a visit by a delegation of the European association of judges and prosecutors (MEDEL), who were informed about changes in Croatian legislation. Following a recent visit to Croatia by Yugoslav Foreign Minister Milan Milutinovic, the paper carries an article on the problem of the still occupied areas of eastern Croatia, saying in part: "While the international community (...) wants to peacefully reintegrate Eastern Slavonia and Baranja within the internationally recognized borders of Croatia, the Serbs continue to claim that the areas are 'ancient Serb land'."
