INTERNATIONAL REPS. IN MOSTAR APPLAUD CROAT INDICTEES' DECISION ON VOL

ON VOL $ UNTARY SURRENDER MOSTAR, Oct 7 (Hina) - Representatives of the Mostar-based OSCE office's and the High Representative's regional office on Tuesday applauded the decision of a group of Bosnian Croat indictees to go voluntarily to The Hague to face charges at the International Tribunal. It was a very difficult step for the Croats, which proves their readiness to cooperate in order that the truth may be found out, said the head of the High Representative's regional office, Martin Garrod. The outgoing head of the regional OSCE office, Edward Joseph, added that the Organisation for Security and Cooperation would not be calm until all perpetrators of recent murders of several Croats in central Bosnia be brought to justice. These two international representatives commented on the situation in the central Bosnian town of Bugojno under the Moslem (Bosniak) control. They stressed that the mayor of Bugojno, Dzevad Mlaco, must comply with agreements on the return of Croats to the town. Joseph who is leaving the post of the head of the Mostar OSCE office, will be replaced by the OSCE spokesman in Bosnia- Herzegovina, David Foley. A UN representative in Mostar, Kelly Moore, said that the UN Secretary-General's special envoy, Kai Eide, expressed concern about the slow investigation into the explosion of a car-bomb in western part of Mostar on 18 September. According to her, the investigating team's head, Goran Bilic, has not handed over to the international police task force (IPTF) all data about the probe, although the IPTF has requested them. Moslems (Bosniaks) must participated equally in the investigation, but this had not been the case so far, Moore added. (hina) jn mš 071539 MET oct 97
