BRUSELLS, Oct 6 (Hina) - NATO Secretary General Javier Solana on
Monday welcomed the voluntary surrender of ten Bosnian Croats to the
International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The
Hague.
"I very much welcome the announcement by the ICTY that today
ten Bosnian Croats indicted for war crimes by the ICTY have
surrendered themselves to representatives of the Tribunal and have
been transported to The Hague for trial", a press statement by the
secretary general said.
"This important step demonstrates that the International
Community is determined to see that justice and rule of law prevail
in the Former Yugoslavia", Solana assessed.
He renewed his call to all parties to implement fully their
obligations under the peace agreement and to extend their complete
cooperation to ICTY in the investigation and prosecution of war
crimes.
