JAJCE, Aug 16 (Hina) - Moslem refugees began returning to the
village of Kruscica near the Croat-controlled town of Jajce in
central Bosnia on Saturday in line with an agreement reached in
Travnik on August 13 between Croat and Moslem officials of the
Central Bosnia canton and the Jajce municipality.
Spokesman for the Jajce Municipal Council Bernard Cakaric said
that although it had been agreed that 80 persons would return, 99
mostly elderly Moslems arrived in Kruscica on Saturday.
He stressed that there had been no incidents during the return
process which was monitored by representatives of the Jajce
municipal authorities, the municipal Red Cross, local police, the
Central Bosnia canton, the NATO-led peace force, international
police and the UNHCR.
Under the agreement on return, which will be implemented in
stages, Moslem refugees are expected to return to Lendici on Monday,
to Lucici on Tuesday, to Divicani on Wednesday and to Sibenica on
Thursday.
