SARAJEVO, Aug 14 (Hina) - Considerable progress was made at
negotiations on the return of refugees to the Jajce area (central
Bosnia), a UNHCR spokesman said in Sarajevo on Thursday.
The spokesman, Kris Janowski, told a news conference that
on Wednesday's meeting Croat and Moslem (Bosniak) representatives
in bodies of the Central Bosnia Canton and Jajce municipal
authorities had agreed on the return of a great number of
refugees, including those who left their homes following
incidents two weeks ago. The meeting was organised in Travnik by
the UNHCR.
All agreed on the return of refugees, expelled from their
homes earlier this month, but the return would be on a larger
scale and would include 474 families. They would begin coming
back to villages in the surroundings of Jajce on Saturday when a
hundred of them should return to Kruscica, Janowski said. When
all of them came back, there would be about additional 1,000
residents in the Jajce area, he added.
Janowski said that according to previous experience one
should be cautious and see how agreement would be carried out.
